The team at Outside the Box Café in Ilkley once again welcomed the Lower Wharfedale Ramblers for their annual “Once a Year Day” celebration, with over 60 of their members having a well-earned, post-walk cake and drinks treat.
Amanda Siswick, Social Secretary of Lower Wharfedale Ramblers, Said:
“For the third year running, OTB has helped to make our annual gathering a great success! ‘Once a Year Day’ is when all of our walking groups finish their routes in Ilkley – it’s a special opportunity for both active members and those who have hung up their boots to reconnect, socialise and reminisce.
“We always receive a warm welcome and excellent service at OTB, plus a generous slice of their delicious cake! The café is bright, spacious, and perfect for our needs – especially with equipment that allows us to display photographs from our many years’ of walking adventures. This year, we also shared a display of stile and footpath repairs completed by our volunteers.”

Amy Robinson, Marketing and Events Manager at Outside the Box, shared her appreciation for the ongoing partnership, commenting:
“We were honoured to again host this brilliant yearly event. At Outside the Box, we’re passionate about being part of our local community, and it’s a real joy to welcome back the Lower Wharfedale Ramblers. We really do appreciate that they continue to choose us for their annual celebration and look forward to welcoming them back again next year and beyond.”
Amanda added:
“If you'd like to find out more about us, just search online for Lower Wharfedale Ramblers and get in touch – we’re a friendly, active group offering six levels of walks led by volunteers and seven weekly outings. Quite an achievement!”

The continued collaboration reflects the commitment of the local charity that runs Outside the Box Café, which holds the Best Cafe Business of the Year 2025 Award from Ilkley Business Awards, to provide inclusive, community-focused hospitality open to all. Anyone interested in using OTB for events or get-togethers should contact Amy Robinson on 01943 431173 or email cafe@outsidetheboxcafe.com
