The Rotary Club of Ilkley attended the Burley Summer Festival on Sunday [17 August] to bring to the public the Rotary vision of supporting communities and groups in the local area.
Martin Smith is the Chair of the Rotary Club of Ilkley and said:
“Our presence was by our bright gazebo with many of the world wide clubs exchange banners on show as well as our most recent donations and support to Nell Bank, Scout sail training at Reva, Wharfedale Performing Arts, Martin House development through three years of our Holly Ball event, Ilkley Grammar School with RYLA and Primary Schools handwriting competition, Summer of Fun for primary school children at Clip n Climb, Shelter box support for world disasters, Ilkley Bandstand and Clarke Foley door repairs.
“We had people visit us where we explained what Rotary does and can do for our communities. From these expressions of interest were received and some looking to join us and seeking opportunities for other organisations to come and speak to us at our Tuesday lunchtime meetings at The Wheatley Arms, Ben Rhydding or at any time by WhatsApp, phone or via our Facebook page.
“We had an enjoyable day being involved with Burley Summer Festival.”
