More than 400 people gathered on the banks of the River Aire earlier this month for another hugely successful Silsden Proms on the Farm event, raising an incredible £6,000 for local charities.
The annual outdoor concert, held at Jackson's Field in Silsden, brought together families, friends and music lovers for an evening of live entertainment, community spirit and fundraising, with proceeds benefiting Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice and Silsden Methodist Church.
Audiences were treated to a packed programme of music from the award-winning Tewit Silver Band, featuring soloist Sarah Halstead, alongside the ever-popular Hot Aire Concert Band and local favourites The Puretones, who made their Proms on the Farm debut to a warm reception.
The Best Dressed Gazebo competition saw dozens of groups transform their tents with imaginative decorations and costumes. The judges awarded the runner-up prize to ‘Silsdenbury’, while the coveted Best Dressed Gazebo title this year went to ‘Cobbydale Airways’, whose creative aviation-themed display proved a hit with both judges and visitors alike.
Lead organiser William Jowitt said:
"What an incredible evening! To see more than 400 people enjoying themselves while helping us raise £6,000 for two fantastic local causes is something we're immensely proud of.
“Silsden Proms on the Farm has always been about bringing the community together, and this year's event really captured that spirit. We'd like to thank everyone who bought a ticket, dressed a gazebo, supported the raffles and bottle tombola and helped make the evening such a success.
"We're also hugely grateful to our wonderful volunteers, whose hard work behind the scenes makes an event like this possible, and of course to our brilliant performers – Tewit Silver Band, Sarah Halstead, Hot Aire Concert Band and The Puretones – for providing such outstanding entertainment throughout the evening."
Organisers have also thanked the event's sponsors, supporters and local businesses for their continued backing, helping ensure Silsden Proms on the Farm continues to grow while raising vital funds for charity.
Planning is already underway for next year's event, which will take place on Saturday 17th July 2027.
