Yorkshire Water will begin essential connection works on Monday 27 July at the junction of A65 Skipton Road and Victoria Avenue in Ilkley.
The project, expected to last four weeks, will link a new housing development to the clean water network and will involve temporary traffic lights, manned during peak times, and the closure of the Victoria Avenue junction with Skipton Road to help reduce disruption and keep traffic moving.
The same stretch of road was subject to around 10 weeks of sewer works for the new development earlier in the year, causing significant congestion for motorists.
A Yorkshire Water spokesperson said:
"We're going to be on site, connecting the new development on Skipton Road to our network, from 27 July.
“To complete the connection safely, temporary traffic lights will be required at the junction with Victoria Avenue - these will be manned during peak periods to help minimise disruption. Victoria Avenue will also be closed at the junction with Skipton Road, with access maintained via Dale View.
“We'd like to thank everyone in advance for their patience and understanding whilst we complete this necessary work.”
