The Box Tree restaurant in Ilkley is celebrating after being included in The Telegraph’s list of the 21 best restaurants in Leeds.
From traditional pub grub to oysters and organic wines, the newspaper looked at where to dine for breakfast, dinner and tea in the Leeds area.
Brayden Davies, head chef at The Box Tree, said:
"Recognition like this means a lot for our whole team. Every service is built on the work that happens behind the scenes, from the growers and producers we rely on, to the chefs and front-of-house who put so much care into every detail.
"The Box Tree has a long history and it’s a privilege to be part of its next chapter, showcasing Yorkshire ingredients through a style of cooking that feels true to both the region and my own background.

Including the Ilkley restaurant in its best for fine dining section, the Telegraph says:
For a taste of traditional fine dining, you have to venture slightly out of Leeds – technically into the bordering parish of Ilkley. But this classic restaurant is worth the 26- minute train journey (and still within the LS postcode).
Led by gastronomically gifted head chef Brayden Davies (of Shaun Rankin at Grantley Hall and The Angel at Hetton), classic French techniques are blended with Yorkshire ingredients and influences from his native Australia, all in the romantic setting of a sandstone cottage dating back to 1720. Choose from cured meats from local butchers Lishman’s, barbecue damper bread with Vegemite-infused butter, and strawberry mille-feuille with Tasmanian Mountain Pepper. Wagyu Wednesdays are a real highlight to try the richest, butter-soft wagyu (six courses; £89).
Brayden added:
"Thank you to everyone who continues to support us. We’re excited for what’s ahead and look forward to welcoming more guests through the door.
"It’s a real honour for the team to be recognised in this way. We put so much care into every detail, from the producers we work with to the dishes we create and it means a lot to see that reflected. We’re proud to represent Ilkley and to keep pushing forward."
