A local Christmas tree sale is once again set to raise funds for the charity Spinal Research.
The initiative began in 2010 when the three children of Rob Shelton started selling Christmas trees grown on Lowfield Farm in Beamsley, with all profits going to the charity.
Rob [pictured below] became a tetraplegic in 2002 after breaking his neck in a car crash, and later became a trustee for Spinal Research. When his children moved away from home, Rob continued the fundraising tradition with support from friends and volunteers.

Last year, the Christmas tree sales raised £17,197 and the total since 2016 now stands at just over £80,000. 100% of proceeds continue to go directly to Spinal Research.
Norwegian spruce trees will be available in a range of sizes, priced from £20 for trees up to 7ft. Organisers say they aim to offer plenty of fresh trees each week, with a festive atmosphere including Christmas music at the farm during opening hours - 9am to 4pm.
Sales take place on weekends only, from the final weekend in November up until Christmas, at Lowfield Farm yard, between Addingham and Bolton Bridge, at Beamsley, BD23 6HN.
For every tree sold, two more are planted to support ongoing sustainability.
