The finalists have been announced for the Telegraph & Argus Retail, Leisure and Hospitality Awards and three local businesses are in the running.
Nominations closed on 21st September and both Jigsaw in Ilkley and The Carriage with showrooms in Burley-in-Wharfedale and Guiseley are nominated for Retailer of the Year, and Ilkley’s Outside the Box Café could walk away with Café of the Year.
Amy Robinson, Marketing & Events Manager at Outside the Box said:
“We’re absolutely thrilled that Outside the Box has been named a finalist for the Café of the Year 2025 at the T&A Retail, Leisure and Hospitality Awards. As a proud Ilkley business and social enterprise, our mission has always been about more than just great coffee and delicious food, it’s about creating opportunities, connection and inclusion for people of all abilities.
“To be recognised alongside so many brilliant local businesses is truly an honour, and it reflects the passion, hard work and heart our team pours into everything we do. We’re so proud to be part of such a supportive Ilkley community.”

[The Carriage are shortlisted in the Retailer of the Year]
Delighted to have been shortlisted in the Retailer of the Year category, Aimee Howard from The Carriage said:
“This is a huge honour, and we are thankful to the Telegraph & Argus for this recognition. It’s also great to see that other local businesses have been shortlisted and we wish Jigsaw and Outside the Box Café the very best of luck in their respective categories. With hard work, dedication and resilience we have become the destination for beautifully crafted beds and mattresses, including premium UK manufacturers, Harrison Spinks, Somnus, Vispring and Enchanted House Beds.
“As a family run, independent bed business, we’ve been fortunate to celebrate some big wins this year. Last month we were announced as a finalist in the National Bed Federation (NBF) Small Retailer of the Year Award, reflecting our reputation and standing within the bed industry. This year we are also celebrating our tenth year of business which is a huge achievement given today’s fast-changing business landscape, highlighting a decade of dedication to quality premium products and outstanding customer service. Our recent achievements wouldn’t have been possible without the amazing support of our loyal customers across Wharfedale, the Aire Valley and beyond – Thank you we’re incredibly grateful.”
The judging process is now underway and the awards evening will be held in The Broadway in Bradford on Sunday 9th November 2025.
