Ilkley promoters Village Pavilion present an evening of live music with Jon Collin on Sunday 9th February 2025 at Ilkley Moor Vaults, with support from the up-and-coming sound artist, Lottie Sadd.
Jon Collin makes DIY music, sound and art using stringed instruments, long tones, found objects, field recordings, friction, and accidental harmony. His most recent release was The Guardian’s folk album of the month, and featured on numerous end of the year ‘best of’ lists. His recorded practice is based around interactions with the world through recordings made in non-studio locations. He has released records on e.g. Discreet Music (Sweden), Feeding Tube Records (USA) and DDS (UK). His collaborative work includes three LPs with Demdike Stare, releases of live collaborations with Bill Nace and Sarah Hughes, and an upcoming trio record with Troth on A Colourful Storm (Australia). He runs the record label Early Music and previously the tape label project Winebox Press.
Lottie Sadd is an interdisciplinary composer-performer making immersive sonic performances and installations. Informed by ideas of ritual, her holistic practice is broadly concerned with exposing the processes of creation. Sadd experiments primarily with long-form and improvised sound works, moving image, and text, inviting audiences to step outside an object-centric art experience and into these dynamic processes. She has recently supported Lambchop and John Francis Flynn in Leeds.
Tickets are £12, available via Eventbrite. This event is kindly supported by Bradford Council culture grants. Follow Village Pavilion on Instagram or Facebook to hear about future events.
