A new trail exploring Ilkley's watery heritage will launch on Saturday, 28 March.
A group of retired ex-teachers have been inspired by the new fountain to create new trails, which explain to children how it works, and also how the nature and science of water has shaped our town.
Chris Oxlade, a published children’s author, has helped to create two walks which include a challenge for children and visitors.
The trails map has an accessible Riverside Walk, suitable to pushchair sand wheelchairs, and a Moors Walk, which both start at the Fountain at the top of Brook Street.
The trails include historical and scientific points of interest to explore by following a step by step guide.
The Ilkley Water Trails map will be launched at 10:45am on Saturday 28 March at the Ilkley Fountain.
The group pass on their thanks to Ilkley Town Council and Wharfedale Naturalists for granting funding to make this a free activity for families.
The Ilkley Water Trails map will be available from the Ilkley Tourist Information Centre, the Railway Station and Ilkley Manor House.
