Police in Ilkley have issued a warning following a burglary in town at the weekend.
The burglary occurred on Victoria Avenue between 9:20pm on Saturday 18th October and 7am on Sunday 19th October.
The method of entry was by snapping the cylinder lock allowing entry.
Police say:
“The unidentified suspect/s gained entry to the kitchen door and conducted a tidy search of the ground floor rooms before leaving empty handed. It is believed that they were looking for the keys to the victim's vehicle which they failed to locate.”
Anyone with CCTV or a doorbell camera is asked to check it between those times and contact police on 101 with reference number 13250600739.

Police are also reminding residents to check the ratings of any cylinder locks in your home:
“Make sure you are satisfied with the rating and is fitted correctly. The locks we recommend have 3 stars written on the front (see image) and are TS007 or SS312 rated. Many firms offer these anti-snap locks.”
