With Wimbledon starting this week, organisers of the 2025 Lexus Ilkley Open, which acts as a springboard for many careers of previous players, have said a record 20,000 attended the event in June.
Host by Ilkley, Lawn Tennis & Squash Club, it was Aussie Tristan Schoolkate and young American Iva Jovic who were crowned the 2025 Men’s and Women’s Champions.
Having been recognised for its level of professionalism since it began, 2025 saw the Lexus Ilkley Open upgraded to a Women’s WTA125, running alongside the Men’s ATP Challenger event.
Always looking at moving forward, the team at Ilkley chose to up the stakes further by hosting their brand new ‘Beyond the Baseline’ music line-up alongside the now World-renowned Grass Court tennis event. Featuring Scouting for Girls, Chris Moyles 90s Hangover, Toploader and more, attendees are already calling for the music events to become an annual tradition.

The event team have been praised for their professional organisation of the event and their ability to successfully combine World Class tennis and evening concerts. Appealing to both sporting and music enthusiasts, the event as a whole is now firmly cemented as a highlight in the Ilkley and Yorkshire Calendar.
The week brought record breaking sales, with 20,000 attending throughout the week and more than £1 million brought into the local economy. Spectators visited from across the country to witness the tennis show case and enjoy a series of outdoor concerts. Tennis ticket sales saw a 50% increase from 2024. These numbers were further bolstered by 1800 hospitality attendees; 3000 music event sales and 2,000 children attending from local schools to play and spectate.
A spokesperson said:
“After being crowned Professional Tennis Courts Grounds Team of 2024 earlier in the year, the tournament truly highlights why Ilkley has earned international recognition and has received extremely positive feedback from players, the Lawn Tennis Association and the WTA and ATP governing bodies.
“While focus falls on the week of the Lexus Ilkley Open itself, there is an incredible amount of hard work that goes into the planning and preparation of the event throughout the year. The team at Ilkley want to extend a huge thank you to all those involved; Club partners, members, volunteers, contracted staff, food and drink vendors, spectators and the whole of the Ilkley community. Without all their support the event would not be possible.”
