Burley Theatre Group’s next production, A Bunch of Amateurs, opens this week at the Queens Hall.
Written by journalist and presenter Ian Hislop and satirical comic writer Nick Newman, it truly is a love letter to amateur dramatics and with hilarious characters and dialogue. It tells the tale of Jefferson Steel, a fading Hollywood action hero who travels to England to play the iconic Shakespearean role of King Lear.

Keen to boost his flagging career, Jefferson arrives in Stratford - only to find that this is not the birthplace of the Bard, but a sleepy Suffolk village.
There can only be trouble ahead as the locals clash with his massive ego, tantrums, and vanity.
In the words of Jefferson ‘To be or not to be. That is the question.’ Book your tickets to find out!

Performances are at the Queens Hall, Burley-in-Wharfedale on Thursday 4th, Friday 5th and Saturday 6th of June at 7:30pm, bar from 7pm.
