Following the success of the inaugural 'Ilkley Grammar School (IGS) Music Showcase' in 2023, the event returns next week, Wednesday 6th November 2024, at the King's Hall.
The audience is promised another evening filled with talented teenagers performing a variety of musical genres from rock bands to choirs, musicals and classical, something for everyone.
The IGS Music Showcase also includes the Battle of the Bands, which was won in 2023 by Shaded, with their powerful performance of Fleetwood Mac's 'The Chain'. The band which consists of Alice, Betsy, Edith and Lydia also won the Audience Choice Award at the first 'Red Kite Battle of the Bands' hosted at The Wardrobe, Leeds in January 2024. Shaded continue to perform in and out of school and plan to write original songs.
The 11 bands competing in the 2024 Battle of the Bands are Okumay, Distortion, Suspended, Deadline, Hyperfixation, The Argument, Ayrborne, J.T.M.S, DukTape, Big C.A.T.S. and The Unnamed.
Tickets are available from the Bradford Theatres website, £8 (£6 students): www.bradford-theatres.co.uk/whats-on/ilkley-grammar-school-musical-showcase
All proceeds will go to the charity, The Friends of the Kings Hall and Winter Garden, who help support the wonderful venue.
