On Friday 15th November, join Olivia Johnson, Photo Archive Assistant at Bradford Museums and Galleries, for an insightful talk about the remarkable life and work of Charles Harold Wood at Ilkley Manor House.
From motorcycle test-rider, to photographer, to inventor, C. H. Wood’s archive, spanning 70 years and over 300,000 negatives, is a vital resource in preserving Bradford’s history. Not only was he one of Bradford’s most prolific industrial and aerial photographers, but his contribution to the war effort also earned him an M.B.E. and aided the Dambusters in their successful 1943 raid.
The talk will take place upstairs in Ilkley Manor House and tickets cost £5. They can be purchased online via Eventbrite or in person at the House when we open on weekends, 11am to 4pm.
Doors open at 10:15am on 15th November, allowing attendees time to get a hot drink and a biscuit before the 10:30am start.
A spokesperson for the manor house said:
"This is Ilkley Manor House’s last coffee morning talk of the year before we close for winter in December. Don’t miss out!"
