West Yorkshire Police are offering drivers in Ilkley a free road safety course

West Yorkshire Police are offering drivers in Ilkley a free road safety course. ​

Two sessions will be held in Ilkley, each one is divided into key sections addressing common road safety concerns, including anti-social vehicle use, particularly in urban and suburban areas.

Drivers will be provided with practical safety tips, statistics, and involved in community engagement to encourage safer behaviours on the roads.

The sessions is Ilkley are on Monday 14th September – 10am – 1130am and 1pm – 2.30pm – at the Clarke Foley Community Hub.

The session aims to help attendees:

  • Understand West Yorkshire Vision Zero – and its goal of eliminating road death and serious injuries by 2040.

  • Recognise road safety challenges in – identify key risks and factors contributing to road incidents in the region.

  • Analyse data and trends – interpret local road safety statistics and understand how Vision Zero policies aim to improve safety.

  • Explore solutions and strategies – discuss infrastructure, enforcement, education and policy changes designed to reduce collisions.

  • Promote safer road use – describe individual and community actions that contribute to achieving Vision Zero.

Attendees are ask to arrive 10 minutes prior to start time to allow for a prompt start. A member of the Vision Zero team will meet you at the front door to allow access and to sign you in.
