The 2026 Ilkley Half Marathon and 5K has raised more than £55,000 directly for local good causes – with thousands more raised independently by runners.
Organised by Ilkley & District Round Table, the event took place on Sunday 12th July and brought thousands of runners, volunteers, supporters and spectators together.
The £55,000-plus total was generated directly through the event and will be distributed to local charities, community groups and other good causes.
Hundreds of participants also used the races to fundraise independently for organisations close to their hearts, including Ilkley's Clarke Foley Community Hub and national causes such as the Fire Fighters Charity.
Race Director Pete Haigh said:
“We are absolutely delighted that the 2026 Ilkley Half Marathon and 5K has raised more than £55,000 directly for local good causes. It's an incredible result and something that everyone involved should be incredibly proud of.
“But that figure only tells part of the story. We know that thousands more pounds have been raised by individual runners supporting charities and organisations that mean something to them.
“That really demonstrates what makes this event so special. It's not just a race – it's a huge community fundraising effort.”
Runners of all ages and abilities tackled the Half Marathon and 5K routes around Ilkley, with thousands of spectators turning out to support them.
West Holmes Field hosted the Event Village, which featured food and drink, activities for younger visitors and live entertainment from DJ Andre Bravado.
Organisers have also praised the hundreds of volunteers involved in delivering the event, from preparations and registration to marshalling, traffic management and running the Event Village.
Sponsors including JT Atkinson, Ison Harrison and Silverspring Sales & Lettings were also thanked for their support.
Attention is now turning to Ilkley & District Round Table's other fundraising events, including its Santa Float in December and the Ilkley Beer Festival in February.
Tom Harris, from Ilkley & District Round Table, said:
“We might have finished the Half Marathon, but there isn't much time to rest!
“That's the nature of Round Table – we're constantly looking for ways to bring people together and raise money for the community.
"We're incredibly proud of what this year's runners and volunteers have achieved, and we're already looking forward to doing it all again.”
The 2027 Ilkley Half Marathon and 5K is set to take place on Sunday 11th July, with preparations already underway.
