An Ilkley law firm has raised £425 for children’s charity Zarach, continuing its long-standing commitment to supporting families in need across Yorkshire.
LCF Law made the donation through team fundraising activities its town centre office, which has served the Ilkley community for more than 70 years.
Zarach was founded in 2018 by Bex Wilson, an assistant headteacher in Leeds, after discovering one of her pupils had no proper bed to sleep on. Its mission is to end child bed poverty, helping children to get a good night’s sleep, and a chance to thrive at school. In the past 8 years, it has helped to deliver more than 17,000 beds and bed bundles to disadvantaged children across England.
Corporate Partnerships Manager at Zarach, Rachael Winder, said:
“We would like to thank LCF Law for their donation. Our Every Head a Bed commitment means that for every £150 raised another child will receive one of our bed bundles, ensuring a good night’s sleep and an equal opportunity to learn.
“A Bed Bundle consists of a brand new bed with a mattress, duvet, pillow, sheet, duvet cover, and pyjamas. LCF Law’s donation will allow us to deliver three bed bundles, enabling those children to improve their opportunity to engage with their education. We know there are many charities you could have chosen to donate to and would like to thank you sincerely for choosing to support Zarach.”
Ann Christian, head of personal law at LCF Law in Ilkley, said:
“We are proud to support Zarach and the vital work it does for children in our region. As a firm rooted in Ilkley for generations, we are committed to giving back to the communities where our colleagues and clients live and work. Initiatives like this reflect our wider responsibility to support organisations tackling child poverty and inequality across West Yorkshire.”
LCF Law operates from its Ilkley town centre office providing legal services across corporate, disputes, real estate, family and personal law. The firm employs a team who largely live locally and works with both individuals and businesses across Yorkshire and beyond.
