Ilkley salon owner celebrates remission after first phase of chemotherapy

William, owner of William David Hair.

An Ilkley hairdresser has shared an emotional update with customers and friends after revealing he is in remission following the first phase of chemotherapy.

William, from William David Hair, shared the news on social media after receiving the first part of his bone marrow results.

He said he had been told he is now in remission, while stressing that there is still treatment ahead and that the news does not mean he is cured.

But for William, the results mark an important milestone in his treatment.

Writing on social media, he said:

“I’m in remission!

“Unfortunately, that doesn’t mean I’m cured there’s still a way to go yet but it’s the best bloody start we could have asked for!”

William had been due to leave hospital for 10 days before beginning the next stage of treatment, but was given the option of continuing with his treatment immediately.

Despite facing the next stage of treatment, William said he was feeling positive about the latest results and thanked those who have supported him.

“Once again, a massive thank you to everyone for all the messages, love and support and, of course, to the incredible team looking after me,”.

The update has prompted an outpouring of support for William as he continues his treatment, with his latest results providing an important boost during what has been a difficult period.

William David Hair is based in Ilkley and has built a strong local following over the years.
