Ilkley wine merchant to open third venue in Haworth

Ilkley-based independent wine merchant Martinez Wines is set to expand with the opening of a third venue in Haworth.

The business, which has been a fixture on The Grove in Ilkley for more than four decades, already operates wine shops and bars in Ilkley and Bingley.

Its latest expansion will see Martinez open a new venue in Haworth, adding another location to its growing West Yorkshire presence.

The Haworth site is expected to open in September and will follow the format that has proved popular at its existing venues, combining its extensive selection of wines with a bar offering.

Martinez has hundreds of wines available across its range, while its Ilkley and Bingley bars also serve beers, spirits and authentic Spanish tapas.

The independent business was originally established by John and Christine Martinez, with its Ilkley operation later moving to its current home at 35 The Grove in 2000.

Its cellar wine bar opened in 2010 before Martinez expanded into Bingley five years later.

The Haworth opening will now become the company's third location.
