A new all-day café and wine bar is set to open in Ilkley this September on Cunliffe Road.
The new business, Ajé will bring coffee, seasonal food, wine and sherry to the former Herd premises on Cunliffe Road.
It is expected to open in mid to late September, although the exact opening date is yet to be confirmed.
The team behind the new venue say they are creating a space focused on “slow mornings, great coffee, quality local food, movement, conversation and community”.
Alongside the café, ajé cellar will offer a curated selection of wines and fine sherries, with a dedicated downstairs area planned for wine and sherry tastings.
The venue will open seven days a week, with supper club evenings also planned on Fridays and Saturdays.
The owners are experienced restaurateurs who previously ran successful hospitality businesses in South Africa before turning their attention to Ilkley.
They are now documenting the transformation of the former Herd premises, giving people a glimpse of what the new venue will look like as work progresses.
A spokesperson for the bar said:
“Over the coming weeks we’ll be sharing the journey as this old building becomes something like what you see here.
“We’re so excited to finally welcome you.”
