The Rotary Club of Ilkley hosted its annual charity Holly Ball on Saturday 13 December, welcoming a sell‑out audience of 200 guests to the stunning King’s Hall and Winter Garden.
Guests enjoyed a three‑course dinner before dancing the night away to live music from The Warning Tones and a disco set by Your Ilkley Radio's Nick Babb. A lively auction featuring spectacular lots, alongside a raffle supported by local businesses and organisations, helped raise an impressive £20,000 in support of Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice.
Harriet Wood, Senior Community Fundraiser at Sue Ryder, said:
“We are thrilled that the Rotary Club of Ilkley chose to support us with their annual Holly Ball. It’s one of the most prestigious and longest‑running charity events in the Ilkley calendar. The money raised will allow us to continue being there for local patients and families when it matters most, and we are so thankful for this wonderful opportunity.”

Chris Woodhead, Treasurer of the Rotary Club of Ilkley and Chair of the Holly Ball Management Committee, organised the event alongside Austen Pickles and other members of the Holly Ball team.
He added:
“The success of the Ilkley Holly Ball grows every year thanks to the generosity of local businesses and, of course, the Holly Ballers themselves. This year’s total surpassed last year’s, but we’re not resting on our laurels, we’re listening to our supporters and already planning how to make next year’s event even better. Supporting Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice is a privilege, and we are in discussions about continuing this partnership for the next five years.”
The Rotary Club of Ilkley extends heartfelt thanks to all who contributed to this year’s success and wishes the community a very Merry Christmas.
With many guests already reserving tables, anticipation is building for Holly Ball 2026. The Rotary Club encourages anyone keen to join the festivities to book early. Stay tuned with updates on their website at hollyball.org.uk
