There is still time to sign up for this year’s Solstice Saunter through the beautiful landscape of the Bolton Abbey Estate on Sunday 21 June 2026.
The Silsden-based building society, Ecology Building Society, says it is proud once again to sponsor the annual five-mile run and walk which raises money for Sue Ryder, helping the charity to continue its vital work providing palliative, end-of-life and grief support.
The Solstice Saunter takes place each June, on the evening of the longest day of the year, and attracts hundreds of participants, who can choose to run, jog or walk the course.
The event is organised by the Airedale Dodgers and everyone completing the route receives a medal.
Pauline Crawford, who chairs the colleague-run social and charity committee at Ecology Building Society said:
“We continue to support the Solstice Saunter to help Sue Ryder to raise much-needed funds and keep this popular event free of single-use plastics.
“Ecology first entered a team of Solstice Saunter runners back in 2017 and we know how much people enjoy the evening each June. It’s a wonderful setting for a very worthwhile occasion.”
Andrew Wood, Sur Ryder Senior Regional Fundraiser - The North said:
“We are looking forward to a great Solstice Saunter on Sunday with the Ecology team and almost a thousand others taking part. We appreciate Ecology's sponsorship and also their influence to help us make this an event with no single-use plastic involved.”
