The Little Calf offer free play sessions

The Little Calf, Ilkley.

Families in Ilkley can enjoy free play sessions at The Little Calf, thanks to a new initiative sponsored by local businesses.

The popular Church Street play café that opened last year has announced it will be introducing a series of free play days, with the cost of sessions covered by businesses from the local community.

The Little Calf says details of its first free play day, along with the business making it possible, will be announced soon.

In a social media post, the team said:

"We are so excited to introduce some free play days sponsored by local businesses.

"Keep an eye out to see our first free play day and the business that has made this possible!

"Thanks everyone for their continued support this summer!"

The first session is being held this Thursday and it is sponsored by Jam Estate Planning Services.

Its "Mini Ilkley" role-play village features a child-sized café and bakery, veterinary clinic, reading nook, slide and a separate area for babies and toddlers, alongside a range of toys and activities aimed at supporting learning through play.

The venue runs 90-minute play sessions throughout the week, with online booking recommended due to demand, while the on-site café serves coffee, cakes, sandwiches and children's refreshments for parents and carers to enjoy during their visit.

Further details, including dates for the first free play session and its sponsor, are expected to be announced by The Little Calf in the coming weeks.
