Veterans enjoy annual summer breakfast at Ben Rhydding pub

Members of the Ilkley Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast Club gathered at The Wheatley Arms in Ben Rhydding for their annual summer outdoor breakfast.

The event, which has become a popular fixture in the club's calendar, brought together serving personnel, veterans, their families, friends and supporters for a morning of food, conversation and companionship.

Held on The Wheatley Arms' terrace, the gathering took advantage of the summer weather, with attendees enjoying a full English breakfast while catching up with fellow members of the Armed Forces community.

The Ilkley Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast Club provides an informal and welcoming environment for serving personnel, veterans and supporters from Ilkley and the surrounding area to meet regularly, share experiences and stay connected.

Club spokesperson Mark Sugrue said:

"We always enjoy the opportunity to have breakfast outdoors during the summer.

"The alfresco breakfast at The Wheatley Arms has become a real club tradition and an event that our members look forward to every year.

"It is a wonderful setting in which to enjoy good food, friendship and the sense of comradeship that lies at the heart of our club."

The Wheatley Arms has hosted the annual event for a number of years, with members praising the venue's outdoor dining area, breakfast and hospitality.

Andy Pye, Manager of The Wheatley Arms, said:

"As a community pub, we are always very happy to welcome the Armed Forces veterans of Ilkley and the surrounding district.

"They are a really good group of people who have earned a respected place within our community, and it is a pleasure to host their annual summer breakfast."

The club is open to veterans and serving members from all branches of the Armed Forces, along with their families, friends and supporters.

It aims to provide friendship, comradeship and a place where members of the local Armed Forces community can maintain connections and support one another.
