Household bin collections will resume on Monday with general waste say Bradford Council.
Roadside bin collections were suspended last week due to weather conditions and the council said 'significant risk to staff, pedestrians and other vehicles.'
A spokesperson said:
"Due to the majority of collections being cancelled last week, we have made the following operational plan, to minimise disruption to all our residents and clear the backlog of waste as quickly as possible."
Bradford Council has issues this update for the next fortnight:
Tuesday 14 to Friday 17 January – expect collections on the usual day
-
All residents should only present general waste bins for collection. Recycling bins will not be collected and should not be left at kerbside.
-
Side waste presented in tied bin bags will be collected. This should be placed next to your general waste bin.
-
Additional vehicles and crews will provide support due to the expected high volumes of waste but if they don't get to you, please leave the bin out and we'll empty it as soon as possible.
-
Trade Waste collections will be provided as normal.
-
HWRCs will all be open from 9am on their usual opening days – any waste or recycling can be taken by residents as normal. The two main sites at Bowling Back Lane, Bradford and Royd Ings Avenue, Keighley will be open from 9am to 7pm, Monday to Friday, later than normal, to allow extra time if people wish to dispose of their recycling and any excess waste which may have built up.
Tuesday 21 to Friday 24 January – expect collections on the usual day
-
Kerbside collections will be back to normal.
-
Residents should present the correct bin, as scheduled.
-
HWRCs will all be open – any excess waste or recycling can be deposited by residents as normal.
The Bradford Council spokesperson added:
"There is no need to contact us about missed collections: we already know where collections are outstanding. We will empty your bin as soon as possible."
