Thousands of families across the Bradford district, including Ilkley, Addingham and Burley-in-Wharfedale, have received their school offers today on National Offer Day.
Bradford Council say the vast majority of children who are due to start primary school in September have been offered a place at their first‑choice school.
A total of 6,449 applications were received for primary school places this year. Of those, 5,961 children (92%) have been offered their first‑preference school.
Overall, 98% of applicants received one of their top three preferences and every child who applied on time has been offered a school place for September.
Richard Crane, Bradford Council’s interim strategic director of children’s services, said:
“We’re pleased that the overwhelming majority of children have once again been offered a place at one of their preferred primary schools.
“Starting school is an important milestone for families, and we know how much these decisions matter. We would like to thank parents and carers for applying on time and engaging with the process.
“Any families who have questions about their offer or need further support can contact the council for advice.”
Parents and carers are being encouraged to accept their offer as soon as possible and follow the guidance provided.
