Hundreds of new homes proposed for Ilkley and Addingham in Local Plan

The proposals are allocations within the draft Local Plan and do not themselves grant planning permission for the developments.

Hundreds of new homes could be built across Ilkley and Addingham under the latest draft of Bradford Council’s Local Plan.

Bradford Council’s Executive has approved the plan for public consultation, setting out proposed locations for new housing and other development across the district up to 2043.

The Local Plan provides the strategic framework used to guide future development and planning decisions.

The latest proposals identify sites for at least 593 homes in Ilkley and a further 208 in Addingham.

In Ilkley, the largest proposed development is at Hadfield Farm, north of Skipton Road, where a minimum of 256 homes are proposed.

Hadfield Farm is a new addition to the latest version of the plan.

Other Ilkley allocations include 200 homes on land east of Wheatley Lane, 125 off Wheatley Grove and 12 at Stockeld Road.

In Addingham, seven sites have been identified, including a newly added allocation for 39 homes at Bolton Road.

Other proposed developments include 62 homes off St Paul’s Rise, 51 off Big Meadow Drive, 27 at Moor Lane, 12 at Parsons Lane/Parsons Meadow, nine west of Turner Lane and eight at Church Street/Main Street.

The proposals are allocations within the draft Local Plan and do not themselves grant planning permission for the developments.

Bradford Council says Local Plan documents guide where and when development can take place and provide a basis for decisions on individual planning applications.

The latest proposals represent changes from an earlier draft of the Local Plan, which previously identified different housing allocations for Ilkley.

A public consultation is scheduled to run from Monday 19th October until Monday 30th November.

It will be the final formal consultation stage before the plan is submitted for examination by an independent Planning Inspector.

Bradford Council uses its planning consultation system to allow residents and organisations to view Local Plan documents and submit representations.

The latest proposals can be viewed through Bradford Council's Local Plan pages.
