A new community network aimed at helping women build confidence, make connections and support one another is launching in Ilkley this week.
The Big Knickers Network will officially launch at The Fitting Room on Wednesday 14th October, with a free event running from 6pm until 8pm. The initiative has been created by Rachel Peru and Tina Boden, co-founders of AWWA – Accepting Who We Are. The network aims to bring women together through conversations, shared experiences and opportunities to connect, collaborate and learn from one another. It will combine an online community with in-person events, helping women develop confidence in their personal lives, businesses and relationships with their bodies. Rachel and Tina have previously worked together on body confidence initiatives, including events encouraging women to embrace their appearance and feel comfortable in their own skin. The organisers describe The Big Knickers Network as “a community built around connection, empathy, support and a healthy dose of fun.” They added: “It's a space where women can come exactly as they are, share their experiences, learn from one another, ask the questions they might not always feel able to ask and know they are not alone.” The launch event will also feature a special contribution from lingerie brand Chantelle UK, which has donated something for the occasion. The Big Knickers Network is designed to provide ongoing support beyond the launch, with future opportunities for women to connect both online and in person. The launch takes place at The Fitting Room in Ilkley on Wednesday 14th October, from 6pm until 8pm. For more information, visit their website here.
