Family-run care provider Spellman Care is celebrating after winning a major prize at the Keighley and Airedale Business Awards.
The group was named Health and Wellbeing Business of the Year at a ceremony at Victoria Hall in Keighley on Friday evening.
Hosted by TV weather presenter Paul Hudson, the awards brought together businesses and organisations from across the region.
Spellman Care Operations Manager Philippa Young accepted the trophy on behalf of the group and dedicated the achievement to staff across its four care homes.
She said the award recognised the small, everyday acts of kindness shown to residents, adding that when it comes to providing care, “the little things truly are the big things.”
The award also recognised Spellman Care’s work in the wider community, including the Airedale Seniors Collective.
The mobile project aims to tackle loneliness among older people across the Aire Valley through community gatherings, with around 50 people attending its first event.
Following the ceremony, members of the Spellman Care team spoke to Keighley and Ilkley MP Robbie Moore and Paul Hudson about the project and invited them to attend future events.

The success comes during a busy period for Spellman Care, which has also secured two finalist nominations at the Bradford Cares Excellence Awards.
Its Adopt a Grandfriend partnership and Airedale Seniors Collective have both been shortlisted for Wellbeing and Activities Initiative of the Year, with the winners announced on 5th November.
Three members of the team are also finalists at the national Social Care Leadership Awards.
Philippa Young is shortlisted in the Executive Care Home Leader category, Craven Nursing Home Manager Steph Bowers in the Clinical Nurse Manager category and Marketing Manager Peter Chadwick for the Digital Innovator Award.
The national winners will be announced in London on 13th October.
Spellman Care has been operating for more than 35 years and runs Craven Nursing Home, Ghyll Royd Care Home, Springbank Care Home and Steeton Court Nursing Home.
