Ilkley Library to reopen following major refurbishment

Ilkley Library and and Visitor Information Centre is set to open next Monday.

lkley Library and Visitor Information Centre will reopen to the public next week following a major refurbishment.

The facility will welcome visitors back from Monday (21st September), with both services returning to the refurbished building.

The library and Visitor Information Centre have been operating from temporary accommodation at Ilkley Town Hall while the improvement work has been carried out.

Changes include new accessible toilets, upgraded lighting and improved heating.

A new kitchenette has also been installed for use by community groups and organisations using the space.

Bradford Council said the refurbishment was designed to create a more welcoming, comfortable and accessible environment for residents, visitors and community groups.

Councillor Ian Walker, Bradford Council’s Executive Member for Neighbourhoods and Communities, said:

“We are delighted to be returning to our newly refurbished library and look forward to welcoming everyone back on 21 September.

“The improvements have created a brighter, warmer and more accessible space for our customers and community groups.

“We'd like to thank everyone for their patience and support while the refurbishment work has been taking place.”
