Later Life Festival returns to Ilkley for second year

A festival celebrating living well in later life is returning to Ilkley following the success of last year’s event.

Radfield Care’s Later Life Festival will take place at Clarke Foley Community Hub on Saturday 12th September from 11am until 2pm.

The free event will bring together local organisations and businesses offering advice, information, activities and services for people in later life.

Visitors will be able to learn about ways to remain active, independent and connected with their community as they grow older.

They can also meet representatives from local organisations and ask questions in a relaxed and informal setting.

Clarke Foley’s café will remain open throughout the event for refreshments.

Nathan Evans, Business Development Manager at Radfield Care, said:

“Last year’s Later Life Festival was such a positive event, and we were really pleased with the number of people who came along and the conversations that took place.

“We wanted to build on that success and bring everyone together again this year.

“There are so many organisations and opportunities available locally that can help people live well in later life, and this is a great way to find out about them in a friendly and informal environment.”

Anna Clewlow, Marketing Coordinator at Clarke Foley Community Hub, said:

“We really enjoyed hosting the festival last year.

“It was lovely to see people coming into Clarke Foley, having a coffee, meeting others and simply having a chat about what was available locally.

“I think that informal approach is what makes the event so valuable — you don’t have to be looking for anything in particular.

“You can just pop in, have a look around and perhaps discover something new that could make a real difference to your quality of life.”

A small number of free stalls remain available for organisations interested in taking part.
