Residents in the Ilkley area are invited to harness their inner strength this spring through a morning of movement and writing on Saturday 16 May.
Led by Keeley Jean-Baptiste and Faye Knowles, the event is an opportunity for attendees to take time away from their everyday lives and reconnect with themselves in a supportive environment. The session combines physical movement and reflective writing as pathways to self‑awareness, self-confidence and personal growth.
Keeley is an experienced yoga instructor based in Burley in Wharfedale whose work centres on movement, strength and nervous system awareness as practical tools for wellbeing. Based in Ben Rhydding, Faye leads writing for wellbeing workshops in the local area. Her approach combines reflective, therapeutic and creative writing practices, with a focus on the benefits of the writing process and not the resulting product.
The morning will start with Keeley’s yoga-informed movement practice, she said:
“Movement and writing are two different but complementary practices. By combining the two, we want to give people a space to reflect and understand themselves a little better. The theme of inner strength serves to ground the day, with two enlightening and rewarding sessions that require a touch of bravery."
The session runs at The Crescent Inn on Brook Street in Ilkley from 9am to 12pm and spaces are £30, including a hot drink
Faye added:
“My session will encourage people to examine their individual inner strengths and areas in which they’d like to develop. We’ll also work to identify and banish the “shoulds” that constrain us.”
