Ilkley Musical Theatre Society [IMTS] has announced exciting things are happening within the group, a brand-new President, Gary Holmes – El Presidente, a new full committee and an influx of new members - the society is buzzing with creativity and energy.
IMTS are celebrating these changes with their latest production, the cult musical comedy Little Shop of Horrors, which is at the King's Hall between 12th - 15th November 2025.
For those unfamiliar, Little Shop of Horrors is a deliciously dark and funny tale suitable for the whole family, featuring catchy doo-wop hits, a lovable underdog and one very hungry plant. Written by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman — the duo behind The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin — the show follows timid flower shop assistant Seymour, his kind-hearted co-worker Audrey, and the mysterious plant that changes their lives forever. But as Seymour’s fame grows, so does the plant’s appetite… and soon, things start to spiral out of control! Will Seymour’s good nature win out, or will Audrey II take over? There’s only one way to find out — come and see the show!

The talented cast of only eight local performers has been hard at work since June perfecting every song, scene and laugh. Familiar IMTS faces Barnaby Killan, Daisy Button, Benji Kirk, Emilia Marszewska, Mahalia Beevers, and Nick Ward are joined by exciting new members Sam Woodward and Ash Mackintosh-Dixon, bringing fresh energy and incredible talent to the stage.
A spokesperson for IMTS said:
"A huge thank you goes our to our wonderful sponsors — Radfield Health Care, Joze Dance, Westfield House School, and Pariah Dog Koh Samui — for their generous support. If your business would like to help support local arts and community theatre, we’re still looking for around 4 more sponsors and we’d love to hear from you!
"Of course, a production like this takes more than what you see on stage. Behind the scenes, a dedicated team of volunteers is busy building sets, sourcing costumes and props, promoting the show, managing sponsors and keeping everything running smoothly — not just for this show but for the exciting productions that follow."

Looing ahead to April 2026, IMTS will bring the beloved family musical Annie to the Kings Hall, followed in November 2026 by The Prince of Egypt, IMTS is one of the first amateur societies in the country to secure the rights. This epic show will be directed by Mark Allen with choreography by nationally renowned choreographer Damien Poole. Details regarding auditions will be released soon so keep checking emails and IMTS Socials for news. Looking further ahead, April 2027 will see the society’s take on The Great British Bake Off: The Musical — a treat not to be missed!

"Our productions are all done for the Community, by the Community."
