The UK City of Culture programme is coming to Bradford in 2025! For the first time, this will be a district-wide event, giving a unique opportunity to celebrate talent in the local community, as well as within the city of Bradford.
Ilkley Town Council is keen for Ilkley to be involved, promoting a rich and diverse series of events throughout the year, encompassing visual arts, music, dance, drama, poetry, history, well-being and the environment. Look out for information about an Ilkley Town Council small grants scheme to support City of Culture events in Ilkley and Ben Rhydding – coming soon!
Information about grant funding from Bradford 2025 for creative groups can be found on the Bradford 2025 website bradford2025.co.uk.
As part of Bradford 2025, Ilkley Town Council is working with Bradford Council, Ilkley BID, local businesses and community groups to present a programme of events over the first weekend in August, commencing with Yorkshire Day on Friday 1st August. This will be an exciting long weekend of events, starting with a shared civic event on the Friday and continuing with markets, cultural activities, art exhibitions and musical performances on the Saturday and Sunday.
If you are a creative group or individual artist, keen to offer a 30 minute or longer performance during the August celebration weekend, please contact Ilkley Town Council for further information (email enquiries@ilkleytowncouncil.gov.uk) and check out the Ilkley Town Council website (ilkleytowncouncil.gov.uk) for opportunities to be involved in this unique event.
