Entries to open for 2027 Ilkley Half Marathon and 5K next month

This year's event raised £55,000, with organisers hoping to build on that success in 2027.

Entries for the 2027 Ilkley Half Marathon and 5K will open this weekend, with thousands of runners expected to take part in the popular annual event.

Organised by Ilkley & District Round Table, the races will return on Sunday 11 July 2027, bringing runners, spectators and volunteers together for a day of sport and fundraising.

Registration for both races opens on Sunday 1 November, giving participants the chance to secure their places ahead of next summer.

The Ilkley Half Marathon takes runners on a 13.1-mile route through Wharfedale, with a fully closed-road course showcasing the Yorkshire countryside, river views and Ilkley Moor.

The event attracts experienced runners looking to achieve personal bests, alongside those taking on the half marathon distance for the first time.

For those looking for a shorter challenge, the Ilkley 5K offers an alternative for beginners, younger runners and anyone wanting to take part without completing the longer distance.

Both races finish at West Holmes Field, where an event village will feature live music, food and drink stalls, charity stands and family entertainment.

The event has also become an important fundraiser for local charities and community organisations.

Since the first Ilkley Half Marathon in 2019, the races have raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for good causes across Wharfedale.

This year's event raised £55,000, with organisers hoping to build on that success in 2027.

Pete Haigh, Race Director, said:

“We're incredibly excited to open entries for the 2027 Ilkley Half Marathon & 5K.

"It's become such an important date in the local calendar, bringing people together from across Ilkley, Yorkshire and beyond.

“Whether you're aiming for a personal best, tackling your first half marathon, running your first 5K or simply looking for a new challenge, we'd love to welcome you to the start line.

“What makes this event particularly special is what it gives back to the community.

"Raising £55,000 in 2026 was a fantastic achievement, and we're hugely grateful to every runner, volunteer, sponsor and supporter who helped make that possible.

"We can't wait to build on that success in 2027.”

Entries for both races will be available from Sunday 1st November at ilkleyhalfmarathon.co.uk.
