Ilkley beauty salon raises £225 for breast cancer charity

The salon has previously supported other charities, raising money for Alopecia Awareness UK last year.

An Ilkley beauty salon has raised £225 for Breast Cancer Now after hosting a special fundraising event.

Beauty in Bloom, which is approaching its fourth anniversary in the town, took part in Wear It Pink day to raise money and awareness for the breast cancer charity.

The salon was decorated in pink for the occasion, with staff also dressing in pink to show their support.

The fundraiser was particularly meaningful for the team after Ellen, a member of the salon's collective, recently underwent treatment for breast cancer.

The event featured a range of fundraising activities, including a raffle with prizes of a salon treatment and a £50 voucher.

Visitors could also take part in a competition to guess the number of sweets in a jar, while pink-decorated cookies and other treats were available.

Thanks to donations and support from customers and the local community, the salon raised £225 for Breast Cancer Now.

The Beauty in Bloom team said:

“We had such a lovely day getting involved in this amazing cause.

"It was wonderful to see everyone coming together, supporting the event and helping us raise money for such an important charity.

“We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who donated, bought raffle tickets and helped make the day such a success.

"Every contribution made a difference, and we’re delighted to have raised £225 for Breast Cancer Now.”

The salon has previously supported other charities, raising money for Alopecia Awareness UK last year.

The latest fundraiser comes as Beauty in Bloom prepares to celebrate four years in Ilkley, continuing its efforts to support local and national causes.

Breast Cancer Now provides support for people affected by breast cancer and funds research into the disease, which affects around one in seven women in the UK during their lifetime.
