Wharfedale’s only Brewpub, the Flying Duck in Ilkley hosts its annual Beer and Blues Festival this weekend (7-9 November), in support of Ilkley Live, the town’s Community Music Festival.
The popular venue, which incorporates sister company Wharfedale Brewery within its grounds on Church Street, will be donating 10 pence per pint sold towards next year’s music extravaganza where over 100 acts provide free performances.
Show casing over 30 cask ales, craft beers, ciders and lagers from more than 20 breweries from Cumbria and Yorkshire, there will also be live music from local bands on Friday and Saturday, finishing off with free brewery tours and Rock ‘n’ Roll bingo on Sunday afternoon.
Operations Director Gerard Simpson told Your Ilkley:
“We hope people from near and far will pop in to the Duck, sample a few pints from breweries they may not be familiar with, enjoy the acoustic sets we are putting on, whilst also helping us raise funds for what has become a fantastic community event in the town’s calendar.
"Volunteers put an awful lot of time and effort into organising Ilkley Live, but they also need funds to cover costs such as public liability insurance, Performing Rights Society fees, publicity materials and so on. As a pub that hosts regular live music, we are delighted to be doing our bit to help.”
Opening times for the event are noon until 11pm on The Friday and Saturday and until 8pm on Sunday, with street food served from noon each day. Entry is free and a copy of the tasting notes programme can be found on https://theflyingduck.co.uk/beerfestival

Meanwhile, the Flying Duck has made it into the 2026 edition of the Campaign for Real Ale’s (CAMRA) Good Beer Guide – the UK’s best-selling beer and pub guide, for the eleventh year in a row and is the only pub in the whole of the LS29 Ilkley district to be included.
