Revised on-street parking charges will be introduced in Ilkley town centre from Monday 19 January 2026, following a public consultation.
Under the new system, most residential and commercial streets in the town centre will offer a mix of short, medium and long-stay parking between 8am and 8pm, seven days a week including bank holidays.
Charges will be set at £1 per hour, with maximum stay periods applying, including for Blue Badge holders. Blue Badge parking will remain free.
Following feedback from residents and businesses, more than 160 parking spaces on New Brook Street, Kings Road and Cowpasture Road will continue to offer free parking during the existing free hours.
The original proposal would have seen charges apply until 10pm, but this has been revised so parking charges will now only apply between 8am and 8pm. This means anyone parking on-street from 6pm will pay a maximum of £4.
Bradford Council says the changes are designed to simplify parking tariffs, make them easier to understand and improve the overall experience for visitors, while still supporting local businesses and residents.
The new charges will be introduced gradually during January and February, with updated signage and pay and display machines installed across Ilkley. Full details, including a list of affected streets, will be available from 16 January 2026 on the council’s website and at Ilkley Library.
Full details of the Order, including a complete list of affected streets and tariff codes, will be available from 16 January 2026 on the council's website and at Customer Services Reception in City Hall, and at Ilkley Library.
