Dates have been announced for the return of Ilkley’s popular Christmas Tree Festival later this year.
The festive event will take place on Friday 4th and Saturday 5th December, with preparations already underway. Organisers say they will shortly contact schools, charities and community organisations that have participated in previous years, with hopes of welcoming them back for 2026. Last year's festival took place at St Margaret’s Church on Queen’s Road and attracted almost 1,800 visitors over two days. More than 30 local charities, schools and community groups decorated their own Christmas trees, creating a large display inside the church. Every primary school in Ilkley, Addingham and Ben Rhydding was also represented, while visitors were treated to live performances from local school and community choirs, musicians and groups. The 2025 event also featured festive crafts, homemade cakes and seasonal refreshments, with entry free throughout the weekend. Organisers said: “Save the date - Ilkley's Christmas Tree Festival takes place on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 December. “We'll be in touch with everyone who has taken part in previous years in the next couple of weeks. "We'd love to see you all again. “Our festive planning is underway!” The festival has grown into a popular part of Ilkley's Christmas calendar. In 2024, almost 2,000 people attended, with fundraising linked to the festival and St Margaret's Christmas Appeal subsequently contributing more than £4,400 to Martin House Children's Hospice. Further details about the 2026 festival, including participating organisations and entertainment, are expected to be announced closer to the event.
