Ilkley & District Round Table has awarded a generous grant of £5,275.80 to the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund (CHSF), helping to fund 12 portable Kardia heart monitors and 12 INR home testing kits.
These devices will support children and young people across Yorkshire living with congenital heart disease, helping them and their families monitor their health from home and reduce hospital visits.
CHSF’s Evelyn Hazzard said:
“We are incredibly grateful to Ilkley & District Round Table for their continued support. This donation will make a real difference to young lives across the region.”
The donation was made possible thanks to the incredible community support for two of Ilkley’s biggest annual fundraising events, the Ilkley Beer Festival and Ilkley Half Marathon. Profits from these events directly fund local causes and charities like CHSF.
Ben Cackett, Community Service Officer for Ilkley Round Table, said:
“The Round Table would like to extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who has taken part, volunteered, sponsored, or attended over the years, it’s thanks to the local community’s amazing support that we’re able to fund causes like this. We’re proud to help children across Yorkshire through CHSF’s vital work.”
Entries are now open for the next Ilkley Half Marathon and the brand-new Ilkley 5K — open to anyone aged 11 and over, visit ilkleyhalfmarathon.co.uk.
Ben added:
“Enter and be part of something amazing. We’re also looking forward to welcoming the community back to the Ilkley Beer Festival in February 2026.”
