Leeds United legends coming to Ilkley for special fans' night

Jermaine Beckford and Michael Bridges will visit Ilkley later this month.

Leeds United fans will have the chance to hear from two former Elland Road strikers when Jermaine Beckford and Michael Bridges visit Ilkley later this month.

The pair will appear at the King’s Hall and Winter Garden on Tuesday 29th September for an evening of football stories, memories and behind-the-scenes tales from their careers.

The event will be hosted by another former Leeds United player, Andy Couzens, with fans promised plenty of football nostalgia and stories from life at Elland Road.

Beckford is particularly remembered by Leeds supporters for scoring the winning goal against Manchester United at Old Trafford in the FA Cup in January 2010.

He also played a major role in the club's promotion from League One during the 2009/10 season, scoring the goal against Bristol Rovers on the final day that helped secure Leeds' return to the Championship.

Bridges joined Leeds from Sunderland in 1999 and was part of the team during a memorable period for the club, which included reaching the semi-finals of the UEFA Cup and Champions League.

The evening in Ilkley will give both former strikers the opportunity to share stories from their playing days, with Couzens guiding the conversation and plenty of laughs and footballing memories promised.

The event takes place at the King’s Hall and Winter Garden in Ilkley on Tuesday 29th September, with tickets available through Bradford Theatres.
