The Rotary Club of Ilkley Wharfedale is appealing for informational after a poster promoting a choir concert has twice been ripped out of a locked cabinet near WHSmith on The Grove.
The concert at St Margaret’s Church on 28th June is in aid of two local charities, Nell Bank and LS29 Special Needs Support Group, and is organised by the Rotary Clubs of Ilkley Wharfedale and Erfurt-Gloriosa.
A spokesman for Ilkley Wharfedale Rotary Club stated:
“What mindset would go to the trouble of jemmying open the locked cupboard to rip out a poster… twice in ten days for a concert which benefits local charities? The perpetrators might at least have left a note explaining why they object to the poster.”
The concert features the Ars Musica Male Voice Choir, who are coming to West Yorkshire at their own cost, and all the revenue from the tickets, less some small expenses, will go to the two Ilkley charities.
The police are aware and have issued two crime reference numbers. Anyone with any information should contact the police by calling 101 quoting the crime reference number 13250303900 (for the incident on 20/05/2025) or 13250303913 (for the incident on 28/05/2025).
