The Grove Bookshop events programme is going from strength to strength with more authors visiting in April and May.
Mike Sansbury, manager of The Grove Bookshop said:
“Following lively and successful evenings with Sunday Times bestseller Jennie Godfrey, author of The List of Suspicious Things and popular author and essayist Adam Farrer, whose new book is called Broken Biscuits, we have some even more high profile visitors coming over the next month or two.”
On Friday 11th April at 10.30am, Julia Chapman will be at the bookshop to sign copies of Date with Destiny, the final book in her wildly successful Dales Detective series, this is a free event, just turn up.

Mike adds:
“Then on Thursday 24th April at 7pm we will be welcoming Lucy Rose, author of the book everyone's talking about, The Lamb. Lucy will be in conversation with bookseller and writer Emily Devane about her book which Emily describes as ‘a folk tale, a horror story, a love story and an enchantment.’ It's about a mother and daughter relationship like no other, with undertones of cannibalism, but don't be afraid, because Lucy is a lively and engaging speaker.
“We are thrilled to announce an event with Ilkley-born writer Rob Cowen, whose new book, The North Road, is a blend of memoir, history and nature writing looking at the story, background and mythology of the Great North Road, which runs from London to Edinburgh and has stitched the country together for many centuries.”
Rob (pictured below) will be in conversation with bookshop manager Mike in the shop on Friday 2nd May at 7pm.

“The following week we have debut novelist Rupert Dastur, who will be talking with Emily on Thursday 8th May at 7pm. His novel, Cloudless, is set in North Wales and looks at a farming family awaiting news of their soldier son who is due to return from Iraq.
“May comes to a spectacular conclusion when Bradford crime writer AA Dhand visits the shop on 21st to introduce his new book, The Chemist, and tickets are already selling fast.
“Fresh from the success of adapting his Harry Virdee novels for BBC television, Amit will be chatting to Mike about his new character, pharmacist Idris Khan, who finds himself in the middle of a drugs war in the most dangerous areas of Leeds.”
Tickets for all events are £7 (exc. Julia Chapman which is free) and can be bought on the website and from the shop on The Grove.
