Ilkley Town Council is excited to announce a new addition to its annual Christmas light switch event on Saturday 23rd November 2024.
This year, Santa will lead a lantern parade along The Grove accompanied by a live band before switching on the lights and settling into his Grotto.
Local schools have been approached to host funded lantern workshops for pupils and a public community workshop facilitated by Cecil Green Arts will be held on Saturday 2nd November 2024 at the Clarke Foley Community Hub from 11am-3pm.
Numbers are limited so registration for the workshop is required. You can book by scanning the QR code on the poster or through the town council website www.ilkleytowncouncil.gov.uk/council_events/. Note children must be accompanied by an adult throughout and that glue and art materials will be used so dress appropriately.
The workshop is suitable for ages 8 years and upwards.
All families are welcome to join the parade at the light switch event. A small number of lanterns will be available on the day, but you are encouraged to make or bring along your own where possible.
