A free community event in Ilkley on Saturday is designed to celebrate later life, promote wellbeing, and connect older people and their families with local organisations, businesses, and support services.
Hosted by Radfield Home Care North Leeds & Ilkley, the Later Life Festival is taking place at the Clarke Foley Community Hub, and will bring together a wide range of community partners, including local charities, healthcare providers, wellbeing groups, and specialist services, all under one roof for an inspiring and supportive day.
Taking place between 11am and 2pm, visitors can look forward to:
- Engaging workshops covering topics such as funeral wishes, dementia support, and healthy living
- Informative talks from local health and care professionals
- Stalls and demonstrations from community organisations, charities, and local businesses
- Opportunities to ask questions, gather resources, and discover services that support independence and quality of life
- The festival also celebrates the positive impact of community connections, with live activities, friendly advice, and a chance to meet like-minded people.
Matthew Nutting, Owner & Director of Radfield Home Care North Leeds & Ilkley, said:
“The Later Life Festival is about more than information – it’s about celebrating life, making connections, and helping people feel supported at every stage. We’re proud to bring together so many brilliant community partners who share our passion for supporting older people to live well.”
The event is open to all and is completely free to attend. Families, carers, and older people are especially encouraged to come along and take advantage of the wealth of knowledge and support on offer.
